| The Kenya
Scouts Association (KSA) is a youth organisation
established in 1964 under an act of parliament. However
it functions as an independent organisation, totally
devoid of any government involvement or control. At the
moment the association has a youth membership of 175.000
registered members. The local structure is supervised by a volunteer Area Commissioner supported by a local committee of both scouts, parents, administration officers and others interested in youth development. Self finance style: most of its funds come from donations and grants. Others are registration fees, scout shops, rents and camp fees. The Kenya Scouts Association is a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) |
